Eastern Promise - The Podcast
‘Eastern Promise‘ explores the full potential of the East of England. We talk to experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, disrupters and more, finding out why the Eastern region is the best place in the UK to start, run and grow a business. From architecture to zoology, every business has a place here, with Mike Rigby as your guide on this audio journey, celebrating and promoting our region. Eastern Promise also features the Plug Board; where a panel of three get to plug their own business, event or project in exchange for giving a plug to someone else in return. And there‘s also a bit of lighthearted audience participation in ‘CrowdSourcery’, where folk from across the East of England - and even beyond! - choose their favourite things on a given theme to share and celebrate! You can contact Mike at podcast@easternpromise.org.uk.

Episode 82: Vicky Neal & the Cambridge United Foundation
Thursday Nov 16, 2023
Thursday Nov 16, 2023
This week: We visit the Galfrid School in Cambridge, to a HAF Club being run by Cambridge United Foundation, part of the drive by the city's League Two football club to give back to the city and support the communities around the Abbey Stadium.
We're at the school to meet Vicky Neal, Head of the Foundation, as she and her team deliver a Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Club in one of the most deprived wards in the city, itself one of the most unequal in the UK. Vicky talks us through the strategy behind the Foundation's work and their incredibly strong strategy. I'm also joined by Eastern Promise Chief Sports Correspondent Andrew Dubock, whose experience of being a longstanding part of a football club community lends a fascinating additional perspective.
And finally! You tell me what your first taste of Autumn has been, and share some spots to take in the most enigmatic of the seasons, in another all-conkering (sorry) CROWDSOURCERY!
